The breast lift is performed under general anesthesia. The procedure lasts between 1h30 and 3h and requires 1 or 2 days of hospitalization.
The breast lift can be performed using various techniques. The appropriate technique will be determined by the surgeon according to the volume and shape of the breasts, the size and position of the areolas, the quality of the skin and the extent of the breast ptosis.
Depending on the extent of breast ptosis, the incisions can take different forms.
In the case of mild to moderate breast ptosis, the incisions will be made around the areola and vertically from the areola extending to the folds of the breast.
In the case of significant breast ptosis, the incisions will be as in the case of low and medium breast ptosis, but with a third horizontal incision in the fold under the breast.
The surgeon then proceeds to the breast enhancement. The excess skin is removed and the breast takes on a firmer and more sustained appearance. The nipples and areola are repositioned upwards. The skin around the areolas is finally stretched to straighten the breast.
